NewsTonight 18 is an independently operated digital news and press release platform serving the greater New York metro area. We aim to be transparent about our data practices.
Server-Side Data: Our servers automatically log technical details such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps of each visit.
Press Release Data: When you submit a release via our API, we store the details you provide — contact name, email, organization, and content. This data is used only for publishing and crediting your submission.
We use collected data to (a) operate and improve the platform; (b) publish submitted releases; (c) display third-party news headlines; (d) monitor usage; (e) troubleshoot; and (f) respond to inquiries. We never sell your personal data.
We aggregate headlines from publicly available news feeds via the MediaStack news API, keyword-filtered for New York metro relevance. Each headline links to the original article. We do not collect or transmit visitor data to source publishers or MediaStack.

Published press releases remain on the platform unless the submitter requests removal. Server logs are purged after 90 days.
